Muchas veces hemos mencionado cuanto nos gustan las utilidades de Nirsoft, una empresa dedicada al desarrollo de software, y del bueno. WirelessKeyView, UserAssistView o DevManView, entre otras, son todas aplicaciones muy completas y de gran utilidad, y hoy conoceremos una llamada RouterPassView, que nos permitirá recuperar la contraseña de nuestro router wifi.

Seguramente alguna vez has estado en la situación de necesitar modificar algún parámetro de tu router y no poder ingresar porque has olvidado la contraseña. Y aunque todos incluyen un botón de reset para restablecer todo a los parámetros por defecto, utilizarlo implicaría que perdamos todas las configuraciones que hayamos realizado en nuestro router.

El 33 por ciento del software utilizado por las pymes españolas es libre, según un estudio presentado en Santander por el Centro Nacional de Referencia de Aplicación de las TIC basadas en fuentes abiertas (CENATIC), en el que también se refleja que el 80 por ciento de pymes y el 63 por ciento de grandes empresas valoran el uso de software libre en su estrategia tecnológica.

El ∘Estudio sobre el estado del arte del Software de Fuentes Abiertas en la empresa española. 2009∲, que permite comprender el rol que el software libre juega hoy en la industria TIC española, investiga las características estructurales y económicas del sector TIC que provee, de manera exclusiva o no, servicios y tecnologías basadas en software de fuentes abiertas.

Igualmente, identifica los beneficios, oportunidades y barreras de este tipo de tecnologías en las empresas españolas usuarias. Además, el estudio, que se presentó en la sede del Gobierno de Cantabria ∓miembro del Patronato del CENATIC∓, analiza el contexto internacional y establece una comparativa con otros países de referencia.

El informe señala que, en España, el 33% del software utilizado por las pymes es libre, y se emplea para sistemas de gestión de bases de datos (66%), servidores web (61%), sistemas operativos (61%) y suites ofimáticas (48%). En el caso de las grandes empresas, este porcentaje es del 14%, principalmente usado en servidores web (50%), sistemas operativos (47%), gestión de bases de datos (41%) y suites ofimáticas (28%).

Las razones para elegir software libre en las grandes corporaciones son el menor o nulo coste de licencia (91% de las empresas encuestadas), el acceso al código fuente (80%), el menor coste total de propiedad TCO (78%), y la valoración de los estándares y procesos de desarrollo abierto (72%).

En cuanto a las pymes, igualmente el menor o nulo coste de licencia es el principal valor (80%), seguido del acceso al código fuente (77%), el menor TCO (79%), y los estándares y procesos de desarrollo abiertos (77%).

El 59% de las pymes, y el 41% de las grandes empresas que han adoptado alguna solución de software libre reconocen haber reducido costes, y se muestran muy satisfechas con su uso el 82% de grandes empresas y el 78% de las pymes. Finalmente, entre las empresas usuarias, el 85% de las pymes y el 95% de las grandes compañías afirman hacer aportaciones a la comunidad de desarrollo.

A nivel internacional, Europa es pionera en el desarrollo de software libre, que alcanza ya el 29% de todo el software desarrollado. El 65% de las empresas han adoptado o tienen interés en adoptar software de fuentes abiertas. De ellas, un 53% tienen software libre para la gestión de bases de datos, un 32% para la gestión de redes, y un 30% en seguridad. La evolución prevista es en e-learning, gestión de redes, desarrollo de aplicaciones y de creación de contenidos digitales.

En la presentación, precedida por una sesión de trabajo con las empresas más relevantes del sector tecnológico cántabro, intervinieron Santiago García, director general de Innovación Tecnológica de Cantabria; Sebastián Muriel, presidente de la Comisión Ejecutiva de CENATIC y director general de la entidad pública red.es; y Miguel Jaque, director gerente de CENATIC. Posteriormente se celebró una reunión de la Comisión Ejecutiva de la Fundación CENATIC, que reunió a representantes del Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio así como a las comunidades autónomas y empresas privadas presentes en su Patronato.
